Varieties of Roulette in Casinos

Roulette is one of the most popular games of chance and a prominent feature of any serious casino. Nowadays, there are a large number of variations of this type of entertainment. But they all derive from three main varieties of roulette.

French Roulette

French Roulette is one of the oldest. However, even after years it is still popular. On the contrary, it is the origin of other types of roulette. There are several key characteristics that make a French roulette game so familiar:

  1. The game is played with chips or tokens. Once the game is over, these can already be exchanged for real money.
  2. To play effectively you will have to learn and memorise all the betting types. Without this it will be difficult, as all the terms are pronounced in French. Of course, there are some versions that use English terminology, but they are very few.
  3. When choosing a table to play, you should first research the minimum and maximum bets.
  4. Players can place verbal bets, which are placed by croupiers.
  5. When the sector “zero” is possible several options for the course of events. The bets can be kept on the field until the next drawing or half of their size is returned to the players. In the first case participants have to wait for the results of the next draw. If the player loses, the bet will be returned to the casino; if they win, they get their chips back.

European Roulette

The European version is similar to the French version. The main difference is that it uses the English language. Because of this, European Roulette is very popular, as it is much easier to play. In all other respects there is no fundamental difference. Participants try to guess one of 37 numbers. Features of the game are as follows:

  1. For betting casino tokens are used
  2. After the draw, payouts are made from the highest wager.
  3. When the ball hits the zero, the action is the same as in French roulette. Players can either receive half their bet, or freeze it until the next hand.

American Roulette

In one sense, American Roulette is similar to the other versions. That said, it does have certain peculiarities:

  1. Roulette has a zero and a double zero.
  2. The numbers themselves on the sectors are not arranged in the same sequence as in French and European roulette.
  3. American Roulette table can serve up to three croupiers. The final number depends on the number of players. If there is more than one croupier, they will divide their duties between them in advance. However, only the one behind the wheel can exchange chips.
  4. The game uses tokens of different colours. Each participant gets their own colour for the rest of the game.
  5. There is no verbal betting in American Roulette.
  6. Players can place their own bets. But the dealer can also do this at the request of the participants. In addition, the dealer can intervene if he noticed that the players are doing things that do not comply with the rules of roulette.
  7. One of the differences in American Roulette is that the collection of counters after a game is played is done by hand. The other versions use a special spatula to do this.
  8. The payout of bets starts with the smallest amount.

These three types of roulette are basic. All others are based on them and use the same features and follow the same rules. It is difficult to say which one is the best roulette. Different players are attracted to different versions. But all of them are capable of captivating the casino gambler and give you a chance at a good winnings.
